How long will you keep your 1er?
I've never kept a car for longer than roughly 2 years before upgrading. In fact, i never even had to buy new tyres for my last few cars because i moved on so quickly.
With this 135i though i'm thinking i would like to keep it for a good 5 years or so and really get good use out of it. (i just bought it last month though so still very much in the "honeymoon" period). How about you guys?

This is also the longest I've stayed in a car, usually opting to upgrade every 2 years. I do love my 1er, and considering I've just bought the Alpine stereo upgrade and carbon fibre trim, it's safe to say I'll keep it for a few years yet.
Unless I win the lotto in which case I'll do whatever it takes to get a 1 Series M Coupe with Euro Delivery!

only until the end of the lease, unless it's economically feasible to bail early at some stage (which it isn't at the moment). I'm hankering after another MINI at the moment.

For as long as I can drive it the way it's meant to be driven, at least some of the time.
One day the speed cameras, cops hiding behind bushes, etc will all be too much and I'll move on to a planet destroying softroader or whatever. I don't want to live as a paranoid in my own country on my own roads and if it gets to that then I will move on. Do you think that the government has deluded itself into thinking it owns the roads and sees fine revenue as another cash flow for election promises. It is, and should be, merely the custodian of the roads for the benefit of the real owners, you and me. Time for a revolution. Ah f*** it. I can't be bothered. (And that's why they get away with it) Stop me, I'm off again. |

Probably will move on end of this year or early next year, so will have had it for about 3 years.

The next 1er would be a keeper - this one would have been just 2 years old.

EXACTLY 36 MONTHS.. ( END OF LEASE)
This paticular car wil be used up atthat point i think.. i would not entertain buying it. IF the 1M was available when i got this. I would have Purchased that car out right.. and leased an X3 for my GF as a daily driver.

Thinking about this, I'd consider trading for the F22 1er in a couple of years if I thought it was worthwhile, but it'd be a tough call I reckon. My car is really coming together nicely I think it'd be hard to find something that "fits" so well. |

Makes me think about buying a car & getting a job in the UK for a year, then importing it & myself back to Oz. What could be the downside? Just don't want to drive it on their salted roads. |
