First time at track with my '11 N55

Well, I had a drag day with my Chicagoland SRT Club and since my SRT4 wasn't track ready this weekend I decided to bring the 135. The car is completely stock with 6600 miles currently on it. I did 3 runs with the car and my 2nd run was a best of 13.3@104 and was able to cut a 1.9 60ft with that time. I was also running the stock RFT's and my car is a 6-speed. Not sure if that's a good time but I was happy with the results. I was told I should be around 13.2@106. I would try and upload the time slip sometime tomorrow. My first run was a 13.6@102 with a 2.2 60ft time. I actually rolled out for that run and had all stability control turned off. The second run I actually slipped the clutch around 2,000rpms and had traction control on and didn't realize it until after the run. I think with a little more seat time I could have pulled off a 13.1-13.2.

Edit: Here's a pic that was taken. I will have a video clip of the run too.

Those are really good numbers for a 100% stock car.

Thanks. I was shocked actually how well of a 60' ft. I cut with the car on stock RFT's. My car is currently a lease cause I'm "testing the waters" to see if it's a car I would like to own after the lease is up. If I end up keeping the car I plan on doing simple mods like JB3 Stage 1, Catless downpipe and HP drop in foam filter.

Really good times for a stocker, not sure how the hell you got 1.9 with RFTs! I must need practice, cuz I can't even cut that with Direzzas!

BTW - does that 2010/2011 in your sig represent the SRT-4 numbers? If so, very nice figures. I had me one of them too.

I was launching the car around 2K to pull off that 1.9' but I figure the best I was going get is 2.0'.
Yep. Those were the numbers I made a CANNED tune on the car. Looking to hit higher numbers this year on E85 and basically max out the turbo on the 1025cc injectors I'll be running. Those numbers were done on a Mustang dyno.

Id say that's just about right.
It's pretty much exactly what I ran on the stockers.

I was hoping for a 12.99, but got lazy and gave up =X
Also I think it's asking for a lot from the platform.
Maybe a professional could pull it off =P

Is it better to go with a dry filter or intake over the foam filter? I'm just leasing the car and don't want to go crazy on mods in case I end up trading it back in after the lease.

Great job!

I've manage better 60' with my RFT than my drag radials. I've hit 1.8's with them before...granted I have a 335i

Look at and get a tune that auto tunes like the Vishnu tune (the vish tune also has timing control, ignition control and a host of other safety features that the JB3 N55 lack in terms of for the N55 crowd... The N54group has a auto tune with the JB4...

Also don't do a foam filter they do not breath well... Just buy the K&N filter for the 135 N55 that was just made/released 3 weeks ago... It's the ONLY filter that fits PROPERLY... That foam filter does not fit correctly.. And, as for oil on the filter., the stock filters have almost no oil on them so I'd advise on putting some on a tissue, just a little, and wipe it on the filter. Should be barely visible and look dry... To much oil and the sensors will go nuts... Better yet no oil is your best bet on the filter... AS for exhaust, cats or not cats boils down to do you want them or not... Cats have proven (in indep testing) not to keep the air clean and they really dont take more than about 1-2 hp away from you which is pointless... Keeps your cats on or go to lighter cats.
Thanks for the info. I'm still learning more and more about these cars. I'll have to pick up a K&N filter sometime. I was looking to pickup a catless downpipe but don't want to throw codes so I could look into a catted downpipe.

Get a catless downpipe and get a tune. Then you will have zero codes.
