135i N54 Recalls

Does any OP know which recalls have been in effect for a N54 135I?

Ever? I believe BMW released recalls/TSBs for the HPFP, 3rd brakelight, and injectors for certain cars. At this point the HPFP and turbo wastegates have extended warranties on them. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head but there's probably something else out there.

I already did the injectors and the 3rd brake light recalls, whats the HPFP one, and which is the issue of the turbo wastegates? I also heard there was one about the oil or fuel pump? Thanks.

Thanks.Do they need to reprogram the pump or just replace it? I am afraid if I do that recall in the dealer, I will lose my reflash when they go into the cars computer. What are the symptoms with the HPFP? My car runs perfect, does not have any issues. Runs like a bird, smooth.

There was also a seatbelt tensioner recall. Those are really all the major ones. Fuel pump / injectors, turbo/wastegate warranty got extended to 8 years for many cars (they won't replace it until a problem occurs), tail lights, seat belt.. that's it.

Here are some... Best thing is to have a dealer run your VIN thru their system and see what recalls are open(never were done) on your car.

the first one/pdf...

Haha... I see where you going since your car is a US spec car!

I believe the turbos and waste gates for 8 years or 82K miles, which ever come first. I think most dealers will first try to replace the WG's before replacing the turbos.

I did find this awesome video on how to diagnose IF your N54 WG's are in fact rattling....

You are right my car is US spec

Thanks for sharing this really nice vid I will try that trick with vacuum tanks. Because sometimes I think I can hear something like rattling but it may be also noisy injectors.

So do you know if this warranty is also for Europe? Because I think I saw somewhere that it is just for US even Canada is not covered.

I can't hear any rattling in that video when he is inside the car. Is it just me?

I have a US spec car in Germany and when I took my car to the dealer for the rattle, they said they had no idea what I was talking about. I told them about the extended warranty and they told me there was no such thing. Not to mention I have to remove all my mods and Im FBO.

I think you should try another dealer Oero. But your car has mods.... so normally your out of luck/coverage. A German dealer or any EU dealer will need to email (PUMA) BMW AG to find out about the recall coverage. Its not something the SA or service manager will know. As far as most German dealers are concerned... a US car only has a two year warranty and thats it. But really... we also have the US Federal Emission Warranty and we are covered by all recalls. Its just that unless a dealer has done the recall... they would not know about it.

It was really hard to hear, but there. What I liked about that video was the vacuum hose test.
