E82 headlight problems, im sure im beating a dead horse with this post

ok quick question before I buy a 700 plus dollar headlamp, having a message for AHL and my passenger side HID is out. replaced the bulb on the pass. side with no change, other than the occasional flicker of it trying to fire, which is more than it did before I changed the D1S bulb. it did the flickering thing for a week or two, now I get a constant low beam failure on that side. pulled the ballast on the pass. side and saw that there was a lot of white corrosion on the ballast contacts AND headlight contacts. cleaned both contacts thinking that would do the trick. reinstalled and cleared the codes, no change. swapped the pass. ballast into drivers headlamp, and drivers ballast into pass. headlamp. neither headlights fired. swapped ballasts into original headlamps- drivers side works but passenger still does not. the DRLs work, as do the turn signals and corner lights, only thing not working is the pass. side Xenon, and then obviously the adapative headlamps. my thought is that the passenger headlamp AND ballast need to be replace, but I wanted to see if there were any other corresponding modules that could affect one HID, or if anyone has had trouble with wiring on one side or the other, any help is appreciated thank you so much

PM me your e-mail/phone.
Let's talk over the phone, because that is a wall of jumbled text.

Pretty sure the same thing happened to me. Atleast by what I understood from the one read through. Same side as well. I never went through the trouble shooting part. My ballast for my LEDs fell into the motor. Burnt/broke that. There was 3 parts that went bad. The dealer warrantied it. I'll try to look for that work order. The light also took on tons of condensation at the same time. I think it was igniter, bulb and motor. I'll check for that tomorrow.

Don't get me started on the headlights in these cars. My vehicle has had both headlights (full assembly, bulb, etc) replaced twice now. Luckily both under factory warranty as the cost of each repair was about 5k. My car is nearing warranty expiration. Makes me quite nervous.

the problem with mine is that I no longer have factory warranty and I have to buy the parts myself. im okay with buying the headlamp and ballast IF in fact that is all I need to buy. im reading stuff on the footwell module and how that could be a possible problem also. my theory is that by switching the ballasts and knowing one of them is good, the headlight on the passenger side AND the ballast are at fault. I don't know if the footwell module powers both individually, of if the module is bad, neither HID would work. so so confused

I wonder if you can get a troubleshooting diagram on the BMW TIS? Not sure if they have it, but may be worth the $30/day

This is the one biggest worry of mine - something will happen to the headlights or the front end as a whole and I will be screwed... or the sensors on the suspension...

I am in love with the adaptive headlights though... and even though I wasn't 100% sold that I wanted them, when I found mine she had them and I wouldn't undo it.. but them breaking scares the crap outta me!!

Mine is intermittently getting a adaptive headlight error. I cant find any rhyme or reason when it does it. Hate these headlights.
