Looking for a DIY for BMW PE
Hey Guys -
I picked up the Performance Exhaust for my 2011 135i convertible and plan to install it tonight. I searched the forum and didn't see a DIY. Any suggestions? Seems like cutting was required on the N54 but not on the N55? Thanks! - Larry |

I had to cut the OEM one off. used a sawzall. After that just install the PE where the OEM one was and clamp it on. It's much easier with a second pair of hands to steady it while you line it up.

I installed on my 128 so some of this may not apply to you.
Most people remove the rear diffuser on 135's Mark a circle with a Sharpie all around the pipe where you want to cut; be very accurate, not too short and not too long. Pipe can be cut with a hack saw, best to use a new blade. USE EYE PROTECTION-you don't want metal filings in your eyes. I did not have the Torx socket to remove metal hangar stud; I just cut the rubber square/diamond hangar grommet. At the local parts store I bought a universal hangar for $5 but did then order the proper one from BMW (about $16). All together the install went pretty easy. |
