6 cars with two more incoming, all manuals except for my wife's Jeep SRT.
Answer is hell to the NO! Only auto I'll drive is an electric fully autonomous vehicle. I guess you can't even consider that driving. |

No, as I think part of the long term appeal and appreciation of this car will be because of the manual. I mean, I've also never owned an auto car in my life and want to keep it that way as long as possible was another reason....

manual or automatic
I would have no interest if this car wasn't a manual. This is what makes it special along with all the other aspects of the car.

Well maybe if they offered with the Hurst Hydramatic like on that 67 GTO (belonging to my (still!) good friend's father) that I put into a tree in high school...

+1 This is how I approach the topic. I have two types of vehicles - 1. appliances that shuffle my family and I from point A to B and 2. tools to be enjoyed. The later requires a MT (for me) the former would ideally be fully autonomous.

It might even be faster on the track but interestingly, I just bought a MkVII GTI with a dual clutch but the manual was faster still according to Car and Driver! Probably weight difference on a smaller motor? I was also saw a great Fifth Gear video comparing matching 2014 Porsche Cayman's, one manual one PDK. The PDK blew away the manual in the staged test with all the right buttons pushed but on the track the manual beat the PDK. |
