Couple Questions

1. I went to change the rear brake pads yesterday but the pads supplied by the workshop (Project Mu) don't have the weights on them. Are the weights necessary? Do I have to get pads with them on?
2. The new front pads don't have a slot for the brake sensor. Is it essential for the sensor to be connected? For those who have replaced the pads and not connected the sensor, what did you do with it?
3. I forgot to take the lock nut out when I put the wheel back on . I've since gone for a drive. Has anyone else done this? Did you find the locknut and how far did you drive before it fell out?

So no one of the eighty-five people who have viewed this thread have done their own brakes?

  1. Weights?
  2. No. just short out the cable, insulate & zip tie out of the way. Check your pads visually a bit more frequently.
  3. I haven't made this mistake. Yet.
