My 1m has the drone as well - I hear it in 6th and it's much louder than my 135. It actually can be somewhat annoying on the highway. If I adjust the pedal pressure I can lessen it occasionally.

Compare to our project 135i with DP and full Berk Tech. exhaust the 1M is very quiet.
There isn't really any drone to speak of, at least to me. Some people are more sensitive to these kind of things. We will be testing a mid pipe with resonators later this week or early next. |

I would have your dealer to check it out.
Don't wait several hundred miles, you have brand new cars! I would suggest go to your dealer, let them check and be on the safe side. If it doesn't dissapear, you can proceed with further steps. But waiting and hoping doesn't help you on the law side. If there's a problem other cars don't have, they have to fix it. |

I can't speak on something I haven't heard, but from my car and my experience I love the grunt that this exhaust has stock..... But then again, I had an STI with a 4" downpipe, no cat's and a 3" exhaust with a canister, so I might already have some hearing loss hahahahaa |

I wouldn't mess with it until after the break-in period. Exhaust systems need time to settle down.

I'm well used to loud exhausts. Something similar to your 135i, mine had AR catted downpipes with a Corsa exhaust and the secondary cats taken out. It was loud, but a great sound. This resonance type noise just within a 400 rpm window has me frowning and clenching my teeth and I either drive below it, or accelerate quickly through it. Otherwise the exhaust sounds fine and is ok. |

Mine was quite bad for the first 200 miles or so but it seems to be getting better - I think it's that rather than I'm just getting used to it!
I think you need to give them a bit of time to settle. Certainly, it's no longer a problem for me now. Even before, it only really happened at steady cruising speeds at around 2000-2300 rpm in 6th on inclines (i.e. a bit more load than on the flat but not accelerating through it) |

It's still doing it at over 800 miles. I will post up what the dealers say or do after they have it in on Monday. |

Unfortunately I can't test it just now as there's an absolute STORM raging outside with bits of tree branches and debris all over the roads and even the motorway. I'll try it tomorrow when this weather has settled a bit and post up. |
