OT: Brisbane Apartment Dwellers... Self Service Car Wash?
Hi guys,
I've recently moved to the city and my apartment complex doesn't have a wash bay (devastated!). I'm looking for a place where I can go wash my car. I don't want to pay someone else to do it, i'd rather do it myself. I'm basically after a self service car wash bay, as close to the city as possible. For obvious reasons I don't want to use the supplied brushes, I want to take a bucket and my own soap and basically just fill it up from a tap and use their high pressure washer. Does anyone know of a place that won't crack it at me for using my own soap and mitt? I guess I also need one with a tap where I can fill up my bucket as it would be a bit silly filling up a bucket with a high pressure washer. May seem like an odd request but i'm sure i'm not the only one that is fussy about their paintwork and actually enjoys washing their car. |

Go to anyone of the Car Lovers after hours and bring your own stuff. All you need is their water. Yes - you have to fill your bucket using a high pressure hose but that's just the price your pay

In Toowong. Ironically there is a good car wash service available at work but I can't stomach paying someone else to do something that I actually enjoy doing. Putting aside the fact that i'd probably do a better job myself. |

Do you work at Hutchies?
Get a part time job at hoppys downstairs and do your own car after knocking off. They could certainly do with more people who care instead of the backpackers and illegal immigrants who seemed to do my car last time.

Looks like you have to find a mate who have a house or in an apartment complex that has a wash bay.
Car lovers in Stafford, Underwood and Ipswich. Don't know of any self car wash place. May be you should sweet talk the guys at toowong to let you do your car there with a token fee or you can offer them something else they want .

Nah seriously when I first moved into an apartment I just parked on the visitor parking (Sunday morning) and used the fire hose
At work a few chaps get a mobile detailer to come around and he does the same thing, no one has ever complained. |

I'm more worried about the draining in the visitor parks (there isn't much of it). Think i'll just do late night runs to car lovers and take water with me.

Might need to take you up on that offer when I get my 1/3'er. Leaning towards a 135 at the moment as I want a manual. Although there is a bargain late 2008 135i auto with CIC Prof Nav for 44k... Tis tempting.
