Sandy's Shenanigans
Hey all.. Hope everyone and their 1s made it out safe and sound. I'm still without power - probably will be for a few more days. The 135 is perfect, just a little mud on her from some play time after the storm ..
Again I wish the best for all, and your families! |

Here in staten island we made it through with no damage and no flooding. Just now got power back. Kept the 1 in the garage. Very lucky!

Got power back, but running low on gas. Gonna wait till Sunday and hope most stations are open. It's annoying to have to drive it like a Prius.

cool that no one lost their cars. Also cool how many of us are around in the area. I have seen 1 other 135i in the last year. Actually more 1m's than 135i's

That sucks - I had to do the same thing last night, waited ~hour and ten minutes just to get 87.. It's fine in our cars mechanically but meh, I want my 93 back! I also have a slight tune (JB1).. so my car is very unhappy and I don't plan on any 'spirited driving' this week. I actually manage to pull 31mpg for two days of driving trying to conserve! Thought that was damn good considering my normal is like 20.8 over a 4500 mile span. haha Grats on the car back! |

Still without power - definitely glad my car was sitting in Leipzig during this whole thing instead of in NJ!
Hopefully by the time it gets here I'll be able to fill up with proper fuel.

I never even broke 2k rpms, like 5% throttle, and kept it under 70 on the LIE. People probably hated me haha, I would! Lots of coasting to lights, etc... My normal routine consists of 20-22 mpg.. because I'm addicted to boost. Can't believe they've let power be out this long!! And this new storm here - you guys must be freezing. Hang in there! I get to test my summer tires out in this snow/ice/rain crap leaving work... |

Haven't taken the 1er out of the garage since a few days before the storm. What are the gas stations looking like this week? Is 93 available?
I hoarded 50 gallons the day after the storm, for the generator. I haven't had to go to a gas station all this time. Those lines look miserable. Hope everyone, and their cars, survived the storm. Been riding the bike to conserve gas. 99 mpg!

Nice bike! I havent been riding mine since i have a 07 g650 x moto and it's not fun on the highway. Even with the windshield i added and handguards it's still a windy disaster. Plus it seems to rain every day i think about taking my bike out.
sorry about your loss Mrb, at least your using it as a way to get an ever better car! |

while returning home from the racetrack the day before the storm with 1/8 tank, i found fuel lines were too long everywhere along the drive home, so i garaged the car and planned to make my gas last. well days passed and no power, so i decided to use what little gas was left in the tank to try to make it to a friend's house who had power. after numerous road blocks, thinking i had to turn around before getting caught out with no gas, and a (pre-approved) jaunt across someone's lawn to get around a fallen tree, i did manage to make it to his house on fumes.
i had to stay there for 4 days til i was able to borrow one of his cars, drive to a gas station 20 mins away in the middle of the night, and fill up a 5-gal can with 93. those 5 gallons got me home, and got me to work all last week, thanks to my 9-mile round trip commute. can't say i'm enjoying hypermiling my car though! with any luck, i think we should be returning to a normal gas situation by now, so i'm optimistic about my next fill. |
