Spacers for 225/255 setup

I have 225 front and 255 rear michelin pilot sport as/3 mounted on stock 264 wheels. I'm at stock height. I measured with a ruler and have about 1.5cm front and rear from edge of tire to fender. I'm going to do 10mm up front and was thinking about going 5mm in rear. Anyone run this setup at all? I was told I shouldn't put any spacer on rear but just want opinions

Just curious here because i have 261 & 264 style rims with 225F/255R tire widths.
What are you trying to achieve with wheel spacers?

Just want the wheels to sit flush with fenders. I had 15mm rear and 12mm spacers with my stock 215/245 size and it was perfectly flush. I like the look not fan of tucked wheel

my wheels are not stock width, but 5mm all around on my car, up front solely to clear the strut. Rear is aesthetic.

5mm won't be hubcentric because they are very small spacer correct?

Yea in theory it is no longer hub centric. But they’ve been on the car for a long time now, and there are no ridiculous vibrations or anything like that. Down the road I’ll probably swap it to 10mm all around, space is just going to be stupid tight if/when I do that.

I’d get hub extenders but the rear hub on E8x does not accept one.

I might just go with 10mm front and rear and get h&r spacers since they are hubcentric.

I honestly don’t recall what spacers I have on the car right now, either Macht Schnel or H&R. If the latter are hubcentric at 5mm, that would be great. Either way it hasn’t been an issue for me at all. 10mm spacers at my current ride height would cause pretty intense rubbing. More camber up front would rectify that, but in the rear there just isn’t much room. I hate doing anything wheel or tire related to this car, the space inside the wheel wells is such a joke.

5mm spacers can most definitely be hubcentric. All that implies is that the bore in the middle of the spacer is the size of the car's hub. They would not be wheelcentric though, as there would be no machined lip on them.

I've got 264's with 225/255 Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2's fitted. I have a set of 10mm and 12mm spacers I'm planning to fit (12 rear/10 front). Would this work and could I perhaps also squeeze a set of Eibach springs in for a slight drop or am I playing with fire in terms of potential rubbing issues?

Stock height I gotta think that would be just fine…OE wheels are 7.5” up front? They’re narrow so you have some room to spare. Lowered I don’t know and don’t want to speculate.

Thanks. I'll fit the spacers and see what the effect is. No point in picking up the springs until I've seen how the car gets on post-spacer install and having a look how much space I've got left to play with

I fitted the spacers (12mm rear and 10mm front) and unfortunately with the 255/35/18 at the rear it touches quite badly when traveling over uneven surfaces. I'm going to swap the spacers around to see if 10mm is more suitable for the rear in this config.

Some more feedback: Swapping the spacers around I continued to have no rub up front, but the rear continued to rub, albeit is less situations. Removed both sets of spacers and all is well.

Hey guys.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.

I currently run 225/255 tires with stock m sport suspension and stock 264 wheels . After researching I installed 12mm spacers front 15mm spacers rear. The rears rubbed over rough road conditions and dips. I then swapped out the rear 15mm spacers for 12mm. Now the rubbing has minimized but it now only occurs on rear passenger side only.

Would an alignment fix the problem or should I remove rear spacers entirely?

Are you still on the stock shocks/struts and are they "old"? I had the same setup and the same issue. Long story short, my shocks were fairly worn out and after the new shocks/struts were installed, I didn't have anymore rubbing issues. The new shocks ended up raising my car about 1/2" after it settled.
