Just took it for a spin. Very robust and easy upgrade. Worth every penny.

Although, it still feels flat up top. Im sure this is not Cobbs fault, but the tiny turbos'.

I told myself this would be the only performance upgrade on the car. Yet, after 1 spin around the block, I already found it needs more topend. FML

does the ecu log the high boost, ie if they do more diagnostics on a problem will they see that a tune was ran?

Quick question for anyone that may know. If you are flashed and your cruise control does not work if you flash back to stock does it start working again?

I take a few longer trips during the year so it would be nice to have it work until it is properly fixed in the future hopefully.

Yes, it does work again. I had to take my car in for HPFP replacement. I flashed it back to stock and used cruise control when heading to dealership.

Just ordered mine through Sal@AUTOcouture. Can't wait to get it and flash the car... also can't wait until stage 2 maps come out and ATR... if I understand correctly, ATR will allow a non-tuner to do some tweaking? Is it the same software that the COBB pro-tuners use?

I can't reiterate this enough, but I got an absolutely amazing (and unbeatable) price from Sal@autocouture, I highly recommend you guys contact him if you're ready to purchase and let him know that Kamal sent you... Sal@autocouturemotoring.com (201)-666-3500.

I wish I had known about this a month ago! I looked for a deal, but couldn't find one so I ordered straight from Cobb at FULL PRICE. Two weeks later I got a PM from Echelon Autosports quoting $70 less and free overnight shipping. I emailed Cobb to see if they would match this price, but I was ignored! Not even a reply. What a bummer.

EDIT: Cobb has now refunded the difference! They were a little slow to respond, but I can't complain at all. They were very nice and refunded the difference plus tax!! I'm very impressed with them. I don't regret the purchase at all. Totally worth it!

Yea, I posted a WTB thread in the marketplace forum and also PM'd a couple of retailers, and then Sal@AUTOcouture sent me a PM... went back and forth a bit and then he offered me a deal I couldn't refuse

Damn that sucks. If vendors were more on top of things and didn't take weeks to respond, I'm sure echelon would have been glad to make a sale and you could have saved some money as well. What a shame because you both would have benefited..

Dude trust me, hardly EVER does BMW see it necessary to do an "overnighter" scan on ANY car unless theres serious thought that something aftermarket was causing an issue or the car was dead, etc. Have no fear about warranty issues, this flash has about the least warranty-worry level out of any tune ive seen for this car, piggies are way worse, specially ECU compartment tunes.

my understanding of piggyback tunes was that they lie to the ecu, so the ecu is fat dumb and happy and never logs the high boost, they could only figure it out if they looked at the fuel logs too

I already knew it put the oem tune on

but if it dont clear the logs, and those logs show a tune was ran, I'll wait till I'm out of warranty

It only shows what the OEM generates as it is run, or (for a better statement) the codes generated by the DME operations.
I specifically asked about the dme logs that the puma scans look at, nothing else, if those are left there obviously they will see high boost, I'm not sure if anyone outside of bmw knows what all they log

I already know the tuner code can be cleared, the logs are what I was asking about, nothing else, just the logs that they can look at

Just got off the phone with Cobb. I was hoping for some kind of estimate on the N55 tune, but it looks like they aren't far enough into the devolopment of it to give even an estimate on availability I was on hold for a good 5+ minutes while he asked around so it wasn't a generic response. Impatience is a bitch...

I just purchased the Cobb AP and was going through the tutorial for the install. One question, before you install the program do you turn the car on to accessory mode only or do you have to actually start the engine?

Get in car without pressing the clutch or brake. Insert Key. Press start button 1 time(acc mode, eng off). Verify vehicle, download oem data, upload tune, commence tire smoking.

Took about 25 mins.
