Have anyone tried the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve from ECS Tuning? Any feedback?

I haven't seen or tried anything like this before, but it seems really cool. If you track your car a lot and do a lot of oil changes, than this would save a lot of time for sure. It's 35 bucks, not expensive at all.. I'd say if you are interested, buy it, and let us know!

I've used the Fumoto valve on my Ridgeline for the last three years and it works great. Standard oil changes are easy...this makes it simple!
I'll switch to this for my 1 during the next oil change. There is no need to leave the hose on the valve....it takes two seconds to slide on and off. Plus, old oil will be sitting in the tube and possibly leak out. |

I wouldn't worry about the hose although it will hold a few drops of oil. Thd bigger que
stion is if you have room to spin the valve to install it. The hose can definitely just lay on the pan. It is my suzuki in post 30. The valve still works great. Jim

The only problem that I see with this valve is that it won't allow for a magnetic drain plug to catch the metal particles.
Although I guess one could say that changing the oil will become much easier so it can be done more frequently. I'll probably stick to a magnetic drain plug though. It is a little messier but it's not that bad and I tend to drain my car when it's cold or only slightly warm. |
