Ummm...this is a closed atmospheric system. BOV are bad for this engine system.

No disrespect but please do your research before posting. That thread you posted is well over a year old. I as well as many other N54s are running BOV's without a problem. This has been discussed numerous times before. Dont simply take what you read on the internet as gospel. Ask people who truly know what they are taking about and have real world experience. Again no disrespect meant.

I read this back when I was looking at getting a 3er, and am trying to understand what has changed since then? Without tuning, you MAF will fail to read as it should, because you are releasing the pressure via BOV, instead of it continuing thru the closed atmospheric loop. Which in turn will up your fuel / air mixture. This also causing the Check Engine Light to stay on.

No codes here and dare I say I have probably one of the most heavily modified 135is to date. Anyone feel free to correct me on the last statement? I just wanted to brag a bit hahaha! Just playin. I know for a fact a BOV does nothing bad to the N54 engine.

Well, I know it doesn't give you any numbers on a dyno. In a closed atmospheric loop it recycles the pressure back into the system. If you release that pressure it might even lose some HP in the long run. In other turbo systems the "blow-off" is used to cool the turbo which increases power. If its just the sound you are looking for, they sell these on eBay for much much cheaper then the money you just wasted on an aftermarket BOV...

Cools the turbo??? I gotta hear this? Please tell me how a BOV cools the turbos??/ This is going to be great. Do yourself a favor and google the term "compressor surge" and then you will learn what a BOV does.

ok, not cools turbos, that was left during an edit. When you blow off atmospheric instead of diverting you are running cooler because your not recirculating the uncompressed hot air thru the diverter valves, instead you are blowing it out.
But, my bad just reading more into it right now, people have found the ones to use. It was just in the beginning people were running out and snagging up any BOV to throw on it. My info was outdated and for that I apologize. I would like to see numbers, if there is any change. If not, why would you do the install?

No worries man. The BOV is supposed to reduce the chance of compressor surge and allow the turbos to spool quicker. I have also read that the stock plastic diverter valves may fail at higher boost levels. Being that im running 14.5 lbs i dont want those stock valve cracking and leaking. Perhaps some of the real techs on here can chime in as my knowledge is somewhat limited as well. All in all this is a great forum and we are all here to learn from each other! I know I have learned tons from the people on here.
