Install sunroof?

Has anyone try to install sunroof?
When I bought my car, there is no option to purchase sunroof so I have to take my car to the shop and install. Sucks!

How much would it cost if in U.S? What about other countries?

During the installation, do I have to remove the center light housing?

warranty issues aside, you had better make sure you find an excellent shop to do it, otherwise you could run into a lot of problems. i wouldn't do it dude. just my opinion though

Ask your dealership or any other dealerships where they get their sun/moonroofs done. I know in Toronto, fo cars not equipped with sunroof, dealer often can install (sub-contract it out) it as an option.

I personally would not fit an aftermarket sunroof.

At the BMW factory, the cars that get sunroof, get an extra support piece of metal - and the hole in the roof can make the body structure weak. An aftermarket place would not be able to do this.

Aftermarket sunroof's leak, rattle, squeeek. Be sure you know what you're getting yourself into. Besides: are you sure you want someone cutting through your roof with an angle grinder?

I wouldn't

I dont understand about there not being an option to purchase the sunroof. You are talking about factory option?

Anyway, the aftermarket sunroof can be a real minefield, so take car.

Hope you find what you are after.

I thought all BMWs come with sunroof! I guess not what you live. Do not get an aftermaket sunroof as they are not worth it despite the added benefit.

+1 don't get it.

I rather trade up for a convertible than have a shop cut through the roof of a brand new car. I say live without it. It can be the one thing you miss from the car, like the people who regret not getting xenons, sport package, or comfort access. In this case you didn't even have a choice so enjoy your ride and eventually you'll forget about it.

Standard in the US. Ofcourse, several features are "standard" in the US, that are optional elsewhere.
