I think I am going to pay my dealer a visit 2neight... It is really hard to follow-up here in Montreal especially that dealers delivers a very few car with IDrive so for technician here the iDrive is like a black scary box ... they now nothing about it … and when I ask about upgrade or any technical stuff, they lock at me like if I am talking Chinese

Got mine updated here in Sweden (Europe ;-) and no MP3 in CD or DVD slot.

There are some improvments in the handling of iDrive. It seams that the i/O handling is changed and higher priority is given to the control knob and less prio to the screen handling. etter respons but sometimes at display changes I get a quick flash of the map after the picture has changed.

The decrease of speed on the cruse control is now working as it should when you press hard to decrease to closest 10 kmph

I've upgraded to 19.01 too.
No MP3, no voice control input in navigation menù (I mean the name of the town or the address, for example) and in general no new functions.
Nothing also about new functions I see in September revised manual (thanks to vivekk who posted it).

The software technician who did the upgrade on my car told me that new software upgrades some modules' firmware, but nothing new in the idrive/navigation module.
Only it seems slightly faster.

I collected my week 36 production UK 330iSE with SatNavPro last week & it doesn't have mp3 playability on any of the drives & no additional navigation guidance either. My UK manual mentions both, so when I next see the dealer, I will mention that I will expect both, without payment, as part of the warranty.

I totally agree with you. I think it is a poor show of a high-tech product not delivering the goods - I think the BMW should contact all E90 purchases and re-assure them of their intentions.

I just got my Nav 325i yesterday. I can play MP3 on CD-RW in the CD Slot and DVD-RW in the DVD slot if I remove the Nav Disk. I don't have the CD changer and I am in the US. All the MP3 tags display on the screen.

How do you display what software version you are running?

19.11 is what they said... However I received my car back about an hour ago and obtained the attached printout of the upgrades that were done. So far, I notice that the iDrive screen is faster, but haven't had time to see anything else. However the steptronic gear changes seem smoother.. I'll report further later. Meanwhile, where can I find the meanings of the "CCC" etc ?

CCC is "Car Communications Computer" its the Professional Navigation computer.

Just ask for any others

what program did you use to burn your mp3 cd? also did it work for cd-r also?

I have burned mp3 disks on both CR-RW and CR-R with Nero. The disk has 65 tracks (all displayed on the console) and is 700 mb, two of the tracks are single file albums - I have no doubt it is an mp3 disk. If you play mp3, it displays mp3 on the info panel (bottom text row in the nav screen) and the track view/selector is different then the one you get when playing CD's.

It seems September built USA cars have it. The latest update does not add it to pre September cars yet.

Thanks E90Fleet, you are the best. Do you have any more details on when you think it might be made available in the USA? Also, do you know what CIP these post-September built US spec e90's have? It's got to be a later CIP than the most recent 19.1 update we've seen that doesn't do the .mp3 thing. Thanks.

Yes, MP3 CD's and DVD's do play!! DVD's only work in the DVD slot however, but still 80 hours of music is good to know

For those with Daytime running lights (DRL) im curious if its like in my old 745. I like having the DRL but didnt like how I could never turn em off.

Im curious if on the 3, when you put the lights to parking lights position (where the angel eyes come on) if the DRL are also on.

Can someone test this?

Also in all these months I have yet to see a pic of an E90 with the DRLs on :P

I have a US 325i September production, no additional software upgrade. There is an option to turn DRL on and off (see picture 4). There are also a few other shots in the attachment showing mp3 in operation and the autolock setup:
1: Std CD Display, 2: mp3 display, playing track 30 of 65, note the mp3 track # display in the lower left corner, 3: Setup display for the autolock after moving, 4: Setup display for daytime running lights, note mp3 track display in lower left corner.
