Beat an E60 M5 today.
So I'm taking my girl to piano lessons, I'm sitting at a light and I see a dark colored E60 M5 fly by. I figured I'd catch him up and give him a thumbs-up or something like that. Light goes green and I manage to almost get alongside him about 2 miles down the road. Nothing crazy, I have precious cargo in the back seat.
Wait up. This M5 only has one set of pipes, 17" rims and no fender grill. The old codger driving a 525 with a Towson BMW plate surround has stuck an M5 decal on the back. WTF? Further down the road I managed to get to the red light alongside him. I looked over at him, he saw me, I shook my head and laughed. Light turned green and I was off - again, nothing crazy. What a loser. Why would you do that?

Posers. I remember crushing, or should I say putting 10-15 cars on what i thought was a BMW 545i in my Infiniti M45 Sport. Turn's out it was a 525. Sure was a fun race tho..

Around Indianapolis there is a Hyundai Santa Fe, well the woman took the name badges off the back and put Lexus on the left, let the Hyundai symbol in the middle, then had RX300 on the right.

I had the same experience with an E320.
He had put E55 AMG on the back and I pull up next to him. I'm like okay fine, people can badge their cars to whatever they like. At least I can tell the difference. But then he looks over at me and next thing i know this guy has the audacity to take off when the light turns green. Even with the the head start I not only caught up but flew by him just to show him I wasnt fooled. Now that's a poser. |

people try and kid other people by puting badges on the rear of the car which are just not true
but in the end they are just kidding themselves and are making a fool out of themselves

R u sure it was //M5 and not just //M. There is a 5 series M kit from factory that has BMW OEM M badges on wheels, trunk, and M aero kit.

Hmm. I guess I can see debadging, but rebadging is just plain not cool. There is a new CLS rebadged with the AMG logo around these parts. He drives up and down the road near our mall/restaurants. We were eating dinner at Red lobster last night and he must have driven by 6 times. This happens almost every time I go out there. I would be embarassed to drive it. He seems to like the attention.

That's why I like my reverse theory..I have a 93 civic hatchback with a built b18c type r motor that looks totally stock and I went to the dealer and bought the oem "civic DX" emblem...

it reminds me of that guy who asked us where he can find a 330i badge for his 325i because 325i is also a 3.0L

I think the OP is just as much of a poser with "Beat an E60 M5 today" thread title when he clearly knew it wasn't an "E60 M5".
One poser makes another poser famous.

I can understand de-badging or even changing to b/w roundels (for looks) but up-badging just seems retarded to me. Why do it? Those that know better are the only people who know the difference between the cars anyway.

I saw an SL500 the other day with an AMG badge on it. It was frustrating.
And Macfreak7, I agree with wheeler; the OP was just being ironic.
