When the time comes, where do we find these codes? From the dealer, or on-line??

Thanks.

You can track your order online once your BMW dealer gets you a VIN number. Then you register to the BMW Owner's Circle and track everything about your order from there.

For my 330, I received a production number first to track it thru the system. Then the car got a VIN number later, but I don't remember the timing.

MINI had videos (not car specific) of the various production stages that was fun to watch as your car advanced through production. Someone even found a live cam at the port in England that showed MINIs staging for the transport ship.

The production status numbers are giving me "waiting for my MINI and hovering on MINIUSA.com and the internet forums all day" flashbacks!

Along with the production code (111), my dealer also gave me a seven digit 'production number'. Is that the VIN or are we talking different things here?

It took about a week from learning my production number to getting the VIN (Production Scheduled, Status 112).

I'm guessing production is done, but the car is obviously not shipping as it will be delivered at the Welt. I hear that production for ED cars usually finishes about 10 days before delivery. Do you have your VIN yet, and if so when did you get it? I'm curious how soon I will have mine.
