135 in a coma after a "cold" windy night. Woke up this afternoon?

Leaving work on Friday my 135 failed to turn on on the first press but fired up just fine the second try. This was maybe the second time that's happened. I parked the car on the street on Friday at home. On Sunday I got something out of the center console and locked back up. This morning after a cold night (for Atlanta) with temperatures around 23F (-5C) and strong headwinds on the car, it was absolutely dead. The remote wouldn't unlock the car. After I finally got in with the key cylinder, lights wouldn't turn on, and it didn't even try to crank. I did notice the backlighting for the headlight switch seemed to be on; nothing else.

Drove my second car to work and back. After getting sun all day and warming up to nearly 40F (4C), she unlocked and turned on without skipping a beat?! Clock was just slow by 10 minutes... What gives?? Should I be concerned? I understand a long crank at lower temperatures, but it acted like the battery was completely disconnected...

Edit: I should mention I replaced the original factory battery with a BMW replacement in July of 2015 as a precaution.

Did you code that new battery? Could be your problem.

Bought the battery from a BMW dealership and took it to an indy shop for install and coding. Though I can't be positive they did anything more than just drop it in...

Take it back to the shop that replaced the battery. Too coincidental.

Battery was replaced 5,000 miles and 6 months ago with no other issues in the interim.

This morning was nearly as cold, but I parked in the shade of the house rather than on the street in the wind. Car fired up like any normal day...

These are the typical symptom of a dead battery, and one which needs replacement.

Here's some replacements:
