HELP: 1M Owners, do your mirrors power-fold?
Hey guys, back at it again. Need to get a set of 1M mirrors. After talking to my BMW parts rep, he informed me that 1M's don't come with power-folding mirrors. I refuse to believe it. Can you guys confirm for me?

Mine fold. As M3 Adjuster mentioned it was an option with the convenience/comfort package. Only thing is you have to press the button to fold the mirrors when you turn off the engine unless you get it coded.

I think you have a VO that's unique to the NA market: if your passenger mirror points down on reverse, it means you have 'high' mirrors and a LIN bus between NFRM module and the mirrors (option 313). In NA, all (other) curb monitoring/ LIN bus mirrors are folding, because these 2 functions came in 1 package

No convenience or comfort package... so mine definitely don't fold.
Not an issue though when you park far enough away from other cars, shopping carts, or city streets...

I'll be darned - they do fold - I never even noticed that button.
They sure fold clumsy-looking though. Looks like some jerk could notice and try to break them off just for the "fun" of it. |

Hmmm .... I would love for them to just automatically fold on "off" ... Any tips on coding?

Your only option is to code NFRM parameter SPIEGEL_KOMFORT_EINKLAPP to 'aktive'. This will fold and unfold your mirrors on closing and opening of your car with the key-fob.
