nav screen turned red and then stopped working

Turned on the car and the navigation screen flashed red and then went blank. The cd/radio/etc still works but the screen is completely blank.

anyone see this before?

wow...how old is your car? sound like the screen burnt out or something...thats very weird!

Did it do it straight from the begining? Were you previously listening to music from your hard drive?

Just a suggestion, but have you disconnected the battery for say 15 mins and then reconnect to see if it fires up again normally. IMO worth a shot. You should only have to reset the date and time after you do that as that's all I had to do after I installed my TVinMotion.

after the car was shut down and re-started it all works again.

Argh this just happene to me..
Sat outside in sun but visor was up.. Just 4 hours in mild weather. Started car up and red !!!!
I restarted system 3 x and screen still red.
Anyone know a fix?

Happened to me before, I reset my jb4 and waited 15 minutes and it was perfectly fine.

Ok ... Got subway sandwich..
Got back in car and it works...
Hmm so far sandwich seems to be fix..

It happened to me. Exact same issue, red screen but works after a while on restarting car. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the complete unit under warranty. 2011 135i.
