A few. Brad87's been using the feature since well before it was released by MHD. While you can overdo it with the ambient temp thresholds for each mode and it will cause the pump to run more often and faster, it appears to work as advertised.

I bought the cable from eBay for about $30 and I bought a cheap tablet from Officeworks for around $50 but if you already have an Android device, just use that. You can get battery chargers from Supercheap or Autobahn for not much at all. Take your time and you really can't get it wrong. It's as simple as plugging a cable into the OBD port and pushing a few buttons. |

Yes, I should edit my post to say this.
I have heard of people doing the initial flash without a charger but it's risky as shit. Definitely use a charger the first time you flash a map because it will take around 40 minutes. Quote:
Just buy the equipment and do it yourself. The cable and charger aren't expensive at all and even if you don't already have an Android device to use, they're cheap as chips. It really is very simple and the MHD interface is very intuitive. I honestly don't see how anyone could get it wrong. Just connect the battery charger, plug the tablet into the OBD port with the K+Dcan cable, open MHD app, select "flash a MHD map", choose the tune you want, then hit "write map". From there you just leave the tablet to do its thing and don't touch anything until it's finished. That is literally all there is to it. |

Alright, I know it's an old thread, but I have now bought the Cable, have the Android Tablet and about to get the MHD license.
Major Question: Will a trickle charger suffice or do I bloody need to go buy another charger just for the flash?? I own a trickle charger, don't want to buy yet another charger. |

huge chargers were only really needed before mhd fixed the issue with the lpfp running continuously throughout the flash. |

Bringing up an old topic to provide an update on information. I contacted MHD about my question, and they have confirmed that a 5Amp trickle charger will be fine, as long as all options such as auto headlights etc are switched off, and usb sticks, phone chargers etc are removed.
