I was pretty sure the value package was gone when the LCI was announced due to the lack of it being mentioned. That means the premium package will go up by at least $500 in addition to the $2700 base price increase. Offering the M Sport package but not the regular sport package may be a non event unless the pricing of the M Sport package gets bumped as well. Anyway you look at it that is a big price bump for the 135i. Take heart, it might help resale values on the ones out there already.

The regular sport package (ZSP) was a bit redundant since the ZMP package came out. No real loss there. I'm also a little bummed they killed lemon in favor of oyster leather color.

The white trim is ugly, but then so it the glacier aluminum. Too bad they didn't offer the CF trim as an option

Well the 2700 bump in price covers lumbar/adjustable seats (1000$) / Ipod-USB (400) and LCI headlights and taillights (assuming that covers the rest of the increase: 1300).
In all I think the actual pricing of the car is only slightly higher than those of earlier models with similar options.. And this is probably due to the lights..
Go build a model on BMWUSA without the value package and I'd assume similar MSRP prices for 2012 models.. More expensive: absolutely, but also more equipped standard.
It's give and take: I don't want the seats.. but don't have a choice at this point, I wanted sports package- but offering M-Sport package in all colors is fine with me. HK Sound/Alarm are unchanged options I want as well.. It comes down to the leather prices, which I want but not sure if I will throw 1450 for it.. I need to sit in the leatherette car

Sport seats in the 1 Series are terrific. I second the opinion that the manually adjusted BMW seats are as good as they come. My 2011 135 sticker price was just over 41K and has leather, 6spd, Ipod, comfort access, M sport package, HK, sat radio, alarm. I didn't want the $1K for the seats. As for leatherette, BMW's is decent, but I was afraid that I would get dinged when it became time to find a new one. So, I feel lucky that I have a 2011, minus a few leds.

I don't agree with Glacier Aluminum being ugly, it looks awesome and has a nice feel in my Terra interior. I wanted Piano Balck but that was not possible with the Premium package. I agree on white : cheesy and cheap
