I finally got my lip on and it was not easy. The first thing I noticed when test fitting it was the hole that was predrilled for the end bolts is incorrect. I had to slot the hole in order to get the ends to line up. Once that was done my lip I believe was also too "straight" since the center part of the lip on the bottom gets "rippled" from trying to match the curvature of the bumper. After a couple of hours fitting it I also put on an extra layer of 3m tape on the front of the "fangs" and on the center portion of the lip. Let me tell you it really needs the additional tape. Finally got it on and looks good. The tape looks to be holding it firmly in place.

We finally got a car to do the video, so that will be up soon.
Honestly guys, their are close to 60 Rev2 lips in circulation, of which only a handful (which almost all seem to be on this thread) have had any issues at all. Obviously the curvature of each car's bumper depending on whether it has been taken off/on before, if it's been in an accident, if it has an Intercooler - all of these things vary. We have had many professional shops and dealers install these for customers, only to email us to let us know how they were amazed at how well it installs. I think when we finalize the video on a stock 135i it will clear a lot of things up. Just for reference, here's a picture installed by one of our dealers, Adenau: |

+1 on mine. All stock and never had the front bumper changed.
I'm not complaining... I just want to share my experience. The holes on either end had to be slotted or else the side would not line up after getting bolted down. Right now the center portion of my lip is still holding on after 24hrs but it did take quite a bit of pressure to keep it flush with the bumper. If I'm doing something wrong please let me know. |

My lip is no longer on my car. Its to such a degree that its no where close to the same shape as my front bumper. I have to bend it so much that center is very wavy. The tape I used took every effort I had to get it off my car (the strongest double-sided you can buy off the shelf here in Germany). The center of the lip pulled off the bumper by itself so easily.

thats pretty much what mine looked like before the lip split into 2. I think i figured it out as the part that came apart looks like there was a seam where they joined 2 peices of carbon fiber.

So its been 6 days since I've install my lip and the center portion has pretty much come away from the bumper. When will the "how to" video be ready?

I'm still waiting on a response from iCARBON DESIGN in regards to this problem. I'm losing faith in these guys by the day. |

I have the same issue. I was thinking about sanding these areas as well. For me, it was either: significant gaps in these areas OR install the lip lower on the bumper and lose the flush seamless look with the horizontal surface of the bumper. I chose the latter and I still have a little gap in those areas. Yours actually doesn't seem as bad as mine, but one thing for sure is that this is surely nowhere near the perfect 100% fitment that iCarbon touts with RTM. I've emailed iCarbon several times, and they can't seem to admit that there is an issue with my lip. What bothers me more than the fitment problem itself is that iCarbon fails to see the problem and is unable to even acknowledge it. I've somewhat come to cope with the lip's fitment, but it can be very disappointing when you see other members' lips that clearly fit differently and better than yours. The folks at iCarbon seem to be good guys, and my experience with them have been pleasant and positive overall. That is probably why this irks more than it should. (One coping mechanism I have is constantly reminding myself that my fitment looks better because it's on lower and makes the front look more aggressive. Trying to be as positive as possible.) Its a shame that our ill fitting lips have been dismissed as installer error or damaged cars. I was planning on purchasing a trunk or diffuser but with this kind of response you have lost me as a future customer

To be honest, I would accept installer error if that was the case for mine. Reason why is that would mean my front lip could go back on my car instead of sitting on my floor. And in case you guys haven't seen it yet: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=415405 |

2) Publish a references list of those installers so you customers with problems and potential customers with hesitation can contact them for reassurance and perhaps some install tips.
