I meant to ask this before, either it was addressed already or I'll get flamed. Why is it the N54/N55 flasher are $100 difference?

Likely supply and demand. Newer platform, so people with more money driving them, and therefore more likely to splash a little extra for power.

Because the DMEs for the N55 are more complex And need more work than the N54. Not that it matters because even still the price is dirt cheap for what you get with MHD. Nothing comes close to the price and features.

Got a few codes earlier. Cleared them but one still remains :

2EOF - valvetronic system deactivated, adjustment fault to frequent

Anyone have any ideas?

Compared to a lot of tunes out there MHD is a bargain and the support is awesome...
What other flash tunes are out and how much are they ?? If not for MHD what else ... plus N55 is newer and the R&D deserves probably more than the $100 it?s asking !!

Yes logging is paused when the screen is off. The bluetooth adapter (which has been restarted from scratch twice) will be coming to the rescue someday to save your battery.

Smaller market, and bigger initial investment. N54 is too cheap anyways (and so does N55 is you compare with other platforms, or other n55 tunes). But the really great community makes up partly for that cheapness.

Swapping over to MHD

I suspect I've taken out my JB4 as it is no longer responding to anything. It has served me well, minus not having the ability to plug into the OBD port for track side data logging. I've decided to try out MHD and so far I like it a lot.

I'm running DP, BMS intake, and a few gallons of E85.

Took a few logs after running the car around a while. It's probably still learning. I noticed a few timing corrections and boost fairly constant under target. Looking for help going over the log to see if there is anything I should focus on doing next to get clean logs. https://datazap.me/u/cstokes54/early...76&tmax=404.07

Quick question. Can MHD be used to program and test the valvetronic servomotor? I'll be replacing it this weekend and want to do the testing and such needed without taking it to a shop.

I posted this in the similar thread on e90 forum, just because it's a bit more active, but sharing it here too.

Just thought I put this info out there for the Late E-series folks.

I can confirm that if you got any of the Dinan flashes, then you DO NOT need to have your DME bench flashed to install the MHD flashes. I previously had the Dinan Stage 3 on my 2013 135is. I was able to flash to MHD Stg 2+ and then go back and flash in the linear throttle after that.

I realize this may only be of interest or benefit to a very small number of folks, but still wanted to share.

Interesting. I have the same vehicle and previous owner may have had a dinan on it. How would I check to see if I can flash MHD software if I haven't purchased the $200 app or map packs? I have the cables and everything.

EDIT: Able to connect through the app and see the licenses and read codes, etc. There was a pop-up that said (DME needs to be unlocked) but it doesn't pop up each time.

Would it be possible to make the feature that pauses logging with the screen off a user selectable parameter?

Also, has anyone tried providing external 5V to the USB cable to see if that will both power the cable and charge the tablet? Or connected both the tablet and the DCAN cable to a powered USB hub? I was planning on trying this but figured I wouldn't waste my time if someone has already tried.

Also, I have seen some logs with misfire count channels but I don't have this option in the logger. Were these channels removed at some point?
