Biggest tire I've had on them is a 245/35 Federal 595RSR which runs really wide. So I'd say 255 would be no problem. And this is with a 10mm spacer up front to clear the collar on my ST's (5mm would be sufficient). No spacer in the rear, no rubbing issues at all.
