Checking in at 116k. No issues yet. Again, I use a tender if parked more than say 3 days in the garage. But it's gone for a stretch of about 6 days with no tender and having not been driven. I haven't even seen a battery icon flash on the dash. The original battery must be made of pure unobtainium. Quite remarkable.

Update to say I just put a new battery in this weekend. My car went two weeks parked without a tender (I was out of town on business and couldn't put it on the tender). When I returned it started hesitantly but the clock was reset and it flashed the "car on lift" icon. Kudos to it "saving" enough to start.

It ran pretty normally day-to-day after that with only slightly longer cranks in the morning. I read out the charge history with ISTA and everyday I was hovering near 35% even after a 25 mile commute home.

I figured 8 years was a good run and didn't need to push it too much further. I replaced with another BMW 90ah battery for $160. The closest, but not exact match, I found aftermarket was only about $15 cheaper. Note that the $160 didn't include registration which I did myself. Here's hoping for another 8 year run.

I'm a 09/2009 and still on the original but my P3 gauge shows 11-12 amps after a night of sitting. Never had an issues starting though, so I'm wondering how much comfort access pulls from the battery constantly.

litebulb: if you are seeing 11-12 VOLTS (not amps) after a night of sitting, you need a new battery very soon.

My '08 had the original battery, 77k miles. That can be chalked up to living its life in a heated garage, the temp swings were moderate - which batteries appreciate.

But the '08 was totalled by an uninsured driver a few weeks ago and its replacement, a '13 135i, seems to have had its battery replaced once prior to 27k miles.

Anyone wanting to bid on a fixable, salvage title, '08 135i . . . ; -)

08 with 76k miles on original battery.

When my commute was 5 mins my clock and OBC would sometimes reset due to short drives. Now I have the ideal 30-40min highway commute and that hasn't happened in more than a year

Decided to part ways with a perfectly good '09 OEM White battery yesterday. Took leisurely about a 1/2 hours to r&r.

Replaced with JCI H8 900 ah. Original was 2 wks short of 8 yrs. Like puttin' down a perfectly good canine...just didn't know when it would go lame.

It didn't owe me anything at that age.

2008 with original battery!! Sometimes it cranks a tiny bit slower than usual, but nothing really big. Really surprised how well it's doing

2009 with original battery and 74000 on the odo. No battery issues but I get an occasional electrical squeal from a motorized accessory. That's usually my indication that I'm pushing my luck. This is my weekend car so I might start using a battery tender to see if I notice a difference.

May 08 delivery, never garaged, battery is starting to falter. Will be replacing soon. Can't complain about 9 years of battery life.

09/09, I decided to preventatively replaced my factory issued battery last month as I would get a low battery warning just idling with the radio on for 10 mins or if I didn't drive my car for a day.

Encouraging info. 2010 on the original battery. It's on a BMW smart charger 1/2 the year in heated storage and my understanding is that those chargers have a desulphating/regenerative effect on batteries. I guess we'll see.

After having to jump it a few times recently and it having to live on a tender on weekends, I finally replaced the original battery in my 2011 128i. My Carly adapter should be here tomorrow to register it.

About to install a new battery. Got a few slow cranks multiple times in a row and 1 time it REALLY struggled to start. If I sit in my car with the engine off and music playing for even a minute the battery light comes on. Don't feel like worrying about it so I bought Carly and about to buy another battery.

My 07/09 just started fine after sitting for two weeks. I will check the voltage when the weather gets colder.
