BMW Aus to bring in tuned 135i?

Apologies if repost

http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor...1210-kkmk.html

BMW'S most exciting performance car not to wear a coveted M badge - the compact 135i Coupe - is about to get a bit more wild.

BMW Australia has confirmed that it is considering bringing in a small number of coupes and giving them a performance hike, lifting the standard 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine's output from an already staggering 225kW of power and 400Nm of torque, up to 240kW and 450Nm.

Company spokesman Toni Andreevski said yesterday the company was already in talks with its head office in Germany about bringing in between 30 and 50 of the vehicles.

Those numbers are consistent with the performance kit that recently became available in other markets. I would assume they are talking about that.

bmw australia will try to screw every cent they can out of this and it will probably be a complete rip off but that may improve the resale of our 135i's. in fact this whole ploy could be good for the value of the 135i

It can't be good value when it costs 20k more in the first place!! 20k for 15kw and 50nm?

If I had to blow 20k I'd rather spend it on every single Performance Range item and every factory option instead. I don't think my mates or anyone in the-know would ever let me live it down if I bought one of these over a normal 135i.
