Ticking Vid.. N52
Hey guys,
Here's a vid of the ticking sound I explained a while back and BMW couldn't replicate it... Any thoughts? I've sent the video to my SA. Edit: As a note, this was on a warm engine after a 30 minute drive. Ambient temp was around 25 degrees. Last edited by Taymaishu; 01-17-2011 at 10:14 PM.. |

And I thought my wife was bad at parking
I could not hear what you were talking about but I did have a period of some funny noises at low speeds ages ago. Wound up putting some anti-squeal paste on the back of the brake pads sorted it.

++1. Def sounds like something in the exhaust, like a flex flange or something... when the engine moves the exhaust you get that CLANG sound. It doesn't sound like its coming from up front... def from under the car rear/middle of the car. There is the half X-brace under the car... maybe that is loose. I think it gets close to the exhaust. Or there are a few mounts/brackets for teh center pipe that might become loose. Good Luck, Dackel |

Great! The front cross brace was broken and replaced in July. I will chase this up with my SA as they did the repairs under insurance. Indeed, it is right under the cabin. Best, Tay |

Agree with above, might be some damage left over from the wound Christine received earlier last year
