Damn, I should have waited. I went ahead and paid to have the oil changed at 1 year when I got the seat belt recall done.

Call your dealer and make the appointment. The policy appears to have reverted back to annual oil changes.

Is it that hard to just call the dealer?
I heard of someone else getting a >6K annual oil change in another thread a few weeks ago and I simply called the dealer. I suggest that everyone else do the same.

I'm not, I did my own oil change a day before I noticed the yearly changes might be back

Now, let's give BMW credit for actually listening to it's customers. Still, I wonder if perhaps BMW saw the potential for legal trouble by changing an agreement while the agreement was still in effect. IOW, there is a legal obligation to perform the warranty as stated when the vehicle was purchased. By changing the terms of the agreement, BMW places itself in a potentially risky position of not providing what a customer and BMW agreed to the time of purchase. With the negative press about the HPFP issue and the lawsuits, perhaps BMW thought it wiser to avoid a potential legal issue, and decided to comply with it's original warranty agreement. It's possible. |
