I like the Mustang in all it's flavors. If anything it's good bang for the buck.
The only problem with Mustangs is that they are FREAKING EVERYWHERE. I couldn't stand driving a car I see 2 of every mile on the interstate. Boss or not, to most people it will be just another Mustang. But that's just a personal quirk, I've always hunted out unique cars to own (hence the 1er). |

yes..
302 will be limited at the beginning and dealers will gauge price. Boss will come with race key and power was reviced today to 444hp (up from 440) Standard GT will do just fine as well. And you can get one with major discounts already.. Last edited by amdmaxx; 11-11-2010 at 07:04 PM.. |

http://www.leftlanenews.com/a-tale-o...rformance.html It makes me curious if we'll see more manufacturers begin to offer different ECU maps with varying states of tune from the factory.

Seeing as how that big pony will stick right on the ass of an M3, I don't think you'll be outhandling it in a 128 anytime soon.

+1 I'm even sick of seeing the newer body style vette. The new mustang isn't going to turn heads and I wouldn't consider them to be a "cool car" It's like the SRT-4 when it came out. It was fast but it was still a neon. |

The Bimmer is by far a better car in terms of quality, luxury and handling.. The Mustang might give you more smoke but to be honest who cares unless you are 19 years old..

More Mustang ignorance..comparing to a SRT4...yes there are many Mustangs... just like there are many 3 series...
In fact, in the NY metro area you'll find many more BMW's than Mustangs. |

I said I liked the mustang, just that there are so many on the road the thought of owning one turns me off. The one series, by comparison, is much more rare. And that's a huge plus in **my** book. That's the only point I'm making. Which car is "better"? A Boss Mustang would be a sweet ride - no doubt about it. I'd still prefer a 135i, but that's just personal taste. I don't think you can go wrong with either. You want to smoke your tires in a beefy muscle car? Get the Boss cause you won't be happy with a 135. It's not like we're comparing it to a Kia Rio here... |

Glad you mentioned that..I hate to say it since I love this site but my 11 GT with pirelli pzero nero M+S tires! (stock on automatics) feels 20 times better on the twisties than my 135i ever did.
I am sure the Boss 302 is gonna be badass! Brian Quote:

If you're buying a car primarily for resale value, you're in the wrong hobby.

5.0> 135 and 128 135> v6 stang v6 stang >or= 128 Assuming you add performance pack to v6 stang, and M sport to 128 you're going to have good handling cars and the stang packs 75 more hp 5.1, 13.7@102 by motortrend and 5.4 14.0@104 (come on guys) at c&d from c&d... " Not so much because of the straight-ahead performance—305 horsepower in a 3520-pound car, the lightest in the group, produced about what we expected: 0-to-60 in 5.4 seconds, the quarter-mile in 14 flat at 104 mph. The surprise was what this Mustang could do on mountain roads. Where the GT was nimble, the V-6 was eager, with a lighter touch and better balance. Our test car was a Premium version, equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels and those summer Pirellis, which helped it put up the best skidpad performance of the foursome: 0.95 g. " from MT "f you still can't wrap your head around the musclecar idea, then how about the Mustang V-6 as a sports car? LOOKOUT, MEATBALL! Well, thanks to a newly standard rear limited-slip diff and communicative electric power steering as well as an optional $1995 Performance Package that nets GT suspension and brakes, 19-inch wheels with summer rubber, and a strut-tower brace, our test car recorded maximum lateral acceleration of 0.96 g and 60-to-0 braking in 104 feet. Not even a feathery Mazda MX-5 Miata (0.91, 120) can match those numbers. And for all that, neither can our long-term BMW M3 (0.94, 105)" they even dynoed it... "2011 Mustang V-6 (3rd gear pull, 15% powertrain loss) Claimed horsepower: 305 hp @ 6500 rpm Claimed torque: 280 lb-ft @ 4250 rpm Actual horsepower: 308 hp @ 6700 rpm Actual torque: 287 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm" so i'm assuming 260 whp.. other than the fact that the v6 stang will still be driven predominantly in rental fleets as convertibles and driven by women...it looks like a damn solid car... Now i know this is off base from the BOSS 302 which btw looks like a great ride, but it sounds like the v6 stang is a driving/performance match for the 128 and probably actually will outclass it there. Yes it's still a rustang, a ford, etc. I know, but it's cheaper and finally a decent package. Joe

owned a few fords, currently own a f150, never had trouble with them, the biggest difference I noticed was paint thickness is substantially thicker on bmw, like 5 times thicker

And, the 135i sport suspension is lacking the real BMW handling. But, 20 times "better" on the twistys? I don't think so. |
