Front thrust arm bushing replacement
This is coming up for my 09 18 with 92K miles. I was wondering whether I should just replace the whole thrust arm at around $100 each. It comes with the new bushing and gives me also a new balljoint.

Replace the arms, upper and lower, plus the sway bar end links. It's much, much easier, and as you noted, you get new ball joints in the deal. Use OE parts unless you like doing a job twice. I'd recommend FCP Euro simply for the lifetime parts guarantee.

Perfect time to install the M3 arms. Get the TRW version and get OEM parts for 1/2 the price.

Budget for an alignment right away, regardless of M3 or originals.
And,yup, another vote for M3 arms. Totally worth it.

+1 on the M3 arms. It also adds some negative camber which is a good thing on the 1 series.
