To be honest, this was my first wash (just basic with microfiber towels) and this is my first dark color car. I only have 200 miles on her so far! I will try many of the fine suggestions from this forum for keeping her clean, but I'll tell you, it is easier to see the water spots on a dark car. The MB color is stunning, everyone I meet has the same reaction: :][:

Try this:
http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc or this: http://www.detailersclub.com/ I ordered my Monaco Blue last month and I should have it in 2 weeks. I plan on using the ZAINO products. I have seen it in person and what a great look. It lasts a long time and maintenance is easy once you start the process. Hope this helps anyone... "Keep it Clean!" |

Pics of my Monaco Blue.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21557 I'm very happy with the color choice, but I can see it will be a pain to keep it clean.

Here are the pics after the Zaino. Very pleased with the result. It looks like a mirror, the photos don't really do it justice.

I posted these shots in another thread but thought I'd add them here for the "archives"... I love my new car!

pawarrant, so how does applying the Zaino work? I haven't really *washed* a car in years. I may use a hose hooked up to a soft brush and just wash my car that way, but nothing special. I won't be doing that when I get the bimmer!
While we're on the subject, I've never even put wax on a car before. Is this a pain to do? Exactly how careful do you have to be when you're washing your car? I seem to imagine its like sculpting something when I try to picture the work involved. Maybe when I see the new car I won't think about the work and just think about how nice I can make it look! By the way, the pictures look great and you got some nice locations in the background too.

Deltron, I was the same as you. I never waxed my past cars. When I got this car, I did some research on this site, and decided to try the Zaino. It seemed like a lot of work and seemed confusing until I actually did it. Another member from here gave me detailed instructions on how to do it. It turned out to be very easy. I was impressed. I will send you a P.M. to detail the process. There are some good threads on here about it too.

Need help deciding!
I just ordered a 325xi Monaco Blue/Terra. I can't decide on the walnut(burl) or poplar trim. I've seen both in person and think I might change to the poplar wood (seems a bit more "alive"). All the pics I see are the walnut/burl combo though. Walnut/Terra doesn't look bad but do the hues in the walnut seem to clash with the terra or is it just me? Thought I'd might get some opinions from the experts here. ....
BTW, I'm not really considering alum trim (would if my exterior was black or grey or silver though). (xi, auto, premium, cold weather, comfort access, sat prep) wanted to get the sport package because I love the seats but I'm afraid of what all of the potholes around here would do to the tires/rims- ?. |

Its peace of mind. Between the BMW maintenance/warranty and the tire warranty I should only have car payments to worry about for the next 4-5 years.

2) I'm 99% sure that the sports package on the AWD xi doesn't change the suspension and tires. You still have the non-sports suspension and all-season tires.

Another question
Thanks for the advice.
Bimmerme- I think the combo you have is gorgeous!. I'm just afraid to get grey though because I'm apparantly a messy person. About the poplar vs. walnut issue - I'm still torn but you make a good point. What's more difficult is the variation in the tones, since no two poplars are alike I've seen more red ones and then ones with more yellow. The tiime I saw it with more red in it, it looked fine with terra. Today I saw a poplare terra combo where the poplar was more yellow and it looked weird. Oh by the way, I already ordered my car a few days ago - HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO CHANGE MY MIND? Will the dealership allow me too??? |

What do you think of Monaco Blue/Terra/burl??
Hey, what do you think of this Monaco Blue combo (with terra and burl) as an alternative to Black or S.Black metallic with terra/burl?
