How is this even possible with a 3.0 liter engine?
At the crank though, this power is at the wheels..

Correct. The 135 is making somewhere around 600hp at the crank.

And to answer the previous question, methanol was used as an additional fueling. The stock fuel system became marginal at around 470whp. The extra cooling and octane helped too. Abid said the car went through a night and day transformation when updating from a custom tuned v3 map to an off the shelf v4 map.

For the Evo's those #'s are made with boost over 19+psi.
Yea, the 911 makes the boost at 14.5psi.

That 135 is making some serious power off this N54.

I thought you were saying the amount of power you make has to correlate to a certain engine size

Just got another update. Looks like they did 8 runs with the car so far. And the runs are without 1mph of each other. The best being a 177.6mph It's that consistent and the tune is actually still quite conservative. With a more aggressive tune, 180s is easily possible. Looks like there was another 135 there with bolt-on mods and some other tune. It ran in the 140s.

UPDATE: The car just ran 178.7mph! Which is a couple MPH faster than the Heffner Audi R8 twin turbo that is also running today.

Okay this is just ridiculous. Looks like I may hold onto my 335i for a little while longer.

And Abid just told me that there is a video which will be posted up soon. And all the results, from all the participating cars, will be posted up on the Top Gun website within the next couple of days.

Maybe you should read up about how much HP F1 cars make with a 2.4 liter engine!

God I love the 135 and the N54. This is sick, powering past an R8! The N54 seems to be an incredible base platform to work with.

I can't wait to read the full posted results to see where that 135i stacks up overall.

Yep it will be regarded as a classic since BMW is moving towards N55.. 178 is crazy fast, and with some additional tuning it should be in the 180's like PencilGeeks ride

I think you make an excellent point that all N54 powered cars are going to be BMW classics, potential enthusiast folk lore s**t here.

I would be interested to hear from Shiv or Terry on their thoughts from a tuners perspective. Is the N54 the most sastisfying platform they have worked with? It seems that they have delivered some pretty incredible products by leveraging the N54 platform.
