[VID] Akuna Bay sunset run
Hi guys,
Video i made to test out my self-made camera mount. I had to put music over it as there's a loose nut in the mounting, which causes an ungodly racket. Enjoy! |

Definitely agree on both comments. I'll get some rubber bushes for the bolts this weekend and test it. It's either the plate from the u-bolts or the nuts. Either way, it's an easy fix!
You should join us for an Akuna Bay run soon. Have you done West Head recently? The whole place has been re-surfaced and is soooooo smooth! |

At the moment it is putting 'down' force on the mount to prevent bumping upwards. Once i find a stiffer spring, i can put it under the mount to force it and hold it up against the actual headrest. Then i can just zoom the camera in |

If I hadn't already found the singer in the first track and grabbed the audio track, your video would have got me to do it again! Looks good, but higher res would have been nice! Interesting to see an auto with the paddles, not seen one before (I have the manual)

I'm uploading a higher res one right now, should be available in about 5 mins, so i'll post it in the OP when it's done. I've said to a few of the guys here that flappy paddles are an advantage on Akuna - most of the tight turns require both hands on the wheel, and it's just full control to be able to downshift before a corner to the correct gear with full control Anyway, you'll hopefully see it better on the HQ version! |

It would cost me only about $9 to make - the only thing is i have to buy 3m of the metal tubing whereas i only use about 40cm of it for the strut arm. The only other things i need are a single bolt & nut for camera mounting and two u-bolts. That's it |

Nice work with the mount. How much did the 3m tube set you back? We have a warehouse full of it dude... |

It's the Ubolts that actually cost most of the thing! And then the pain of measuring. However, i now have all the measurement dimensions i need (as the headrest posts are all the same distance/thickness), so the pain of the project is just drilling the holes to size |

Do you want me to show you my mount sometime this week? I'll run you through what you need to get - it's a piece of piss. I'll cut a piece off my extensive metal tubing for you so you don't need to buy an excessive amount. |

I'm dead-set making one tomorrow. My fathers warehouse has every component needed (including machinery), so I won't have to pay anything. Thanks for the offer though Tay - appreciate it. I wish you had told me of your plans before you started making yours... I would've hooked you up. ;-) |
