No idea, but not sure leaving an expensive looking camera mounted on the windscreen while car is parked somewhere is that great of an idea.

I ordered a Itronics ITB-100HD the other day which is very similar to the Blackvue but cheaper as Blackvue have blocked ebay sales.

Dash cams seems like a really good idea as traffic is terrible these days....

How sensitive is it? If you were parked publicly wouldn't it continuously record if things go past?

You can still get them on eBay - this listing is an Aussie seller.

The new Blackvue DR500GW-HD Wifi 32Gb is released on Jan 13th, you can pre-order them online from here.

I'll definitely be investing in one. You never know what can happen on the roads...

Best price I have seen, they used to be around 200 ex Korean eBay sellers.

Read they run very hot too.

Well it now seems the Itronic ITB100HD has been taken off ebay too. Both high end options are now near on double the ebay price - doh....

Very happy with mine - followed the install and used the exact same wiring as the op - Thanks for the DIY!

I'm looking to do the same installation.
Does the constant 12V power actually stay on beyond a few minutes of the car being shut off? I was under the impression the whole fuse-box powers off after a few minutes.

How is the camera holding up? Does anyone know how long it records for when parked?

I'd love to have one of those, but if I mount something in that spot, it interferes with the sensor for my automatic high-beams. Not sure where else I could mount it for a good view.

Thanks for the link. Definitely need one of those Power Boxes. Interesting that all BMW's need to be tapped directly into the battery.

Didn't want to go with the latest model? I think 550 with 2 cams, one for front and one for the rear.

I got this one from a fellow forum member for $150 including the PowerMagic and it was still plastic wrapped.

Looking good! Hopefully you won't need to use the evidence, but having it there definitely gives you some reassurance.

It's also good for checking up on what the service department gets up to!

It would be great if it was a bit smaller and possible to covertly mounted in the black plastic cover just above where you have it.
I would like one but dont want the risk of the car getting broken into.
