Square 225 winter setup (late to the party)
Hi friends,
Due to, erm, circumstances, I found myself in need of a winter wheel and tire set (yes, I do in fact know winter is mostly over already). So I ordered a set of 4 Sport Edition A7 17x7.5 wheels and 4 Michelin X-Ice Xi3 225/45R-17 tires for my 128i. Everything else is stock, most notably rear bushings. Is there anything in particular I should watch out for with a non-RFT square setup and stock bushings? |

You know... your gonna also need TPMS unless you don't mind looking at that yellow TPMS light on the instrument panel.

205s were across the US, 3 times the shipping price of 225s (which there is a shipment facility basically right next to me that had 225s) and the same price. |

I ended up changing my order to the A8's at the last minute. Glad I did. they're lighter (5 lbs per wheel!), and I think the gunmetal looks much better than black anyway.
she's in desperate need of a bath, but I don't care right now because I'm in love with her new shoes: |

I ordered a set of winter shoes for my 135i, so glad i went with the x-ice's over some of the other cheaper options.
there's little to no tire noise, and i dont feel like im driving on butter just yet. maybe once its warmer out that will happen more, but man these things are great. i went with the simple sport edition SE-17 in 17x7.5 and 215/45r17 that tire rack recommended for it. |

205s would have been ideal(what I run in a Pilot Alpin PA3) as narrower is better for snow, but the reality is that we are splitting hairs at that point.
