Melbourne Carwash

Can anyone recommend a decent car wash in Melbourne?

Most recent posts i can find is from around 2012, and i suspect these shops may have changed hands.

So what do people recommend for a routine car wash? I just want somewhere which uses clean clothes, and won't scratch up the paint work.

Nb, I now DIY is the best option, but I no longer have the time/effort to do it myself. I know people may recommend final inspection, but they are too far, and i don't think they really offer car washes?

I would never go to a car wash place for people to wash my car. Majority of those places won't care about your car or your paint and do it so long as it looks 'clean'. The amount of cars they go through one by one I doubt the clothes would be 'clean' too.

If you have spare cash I would suggest investing in someone opti-coating your car. There are people who can come to you and do it. Most offer paint correction before applying it. Once done, you can simply high pressure most of the dirt right off. Just a thought

Unfortunately the only way to ensure a good clean is to do it yourself. I know time is precious but unless you're going to be paying big time, I think you will get marring.

With waxing and sealants, just be careful how much power your pressure hose turns out. You could end up stripping the wax and sealant with it.

I've tried a few car washes here and every time I drive out I'm $40-$50 worse off and wondering why the hell I let them do it in the first place.

I can definitely recommended where NOT to go:

Clearwater Carwash Brighton
Bright Hand Car Wash - Dandenong Rd St Kilda East

I cringe every time I drive past Clearwater Brighton with all the muppets sipping latte's while their paint is destroyed.

The Water Tunnel car wash on Fitzsimons Lane in Templestowe is pretty good. They do an excellent job - never a scratch and always a good detail. Coffee is pretty good too! Normally costs about $70
