New to the forum :)
Hey guys, from perth
Wanted to say hello on the forum Just purchased my 135i last week and was so happy with my buy! picked up a 2008 135i from a mates dealership, the guy who previously owned it was a fly in fly out worker, never drove the car but was treated like royalty and only had 31000kms on it. had a 325i e92 before and was itching for more speed and couldn't have been happier with what I got |

Tune is next! U guys have any good recommendations on whats the best tune? Heard COBB and JB4 are the best? |

The price difference between the two used to be much larger a few years back.. however now with the aussie dollar dropping in strength its not as big a difference as the JB4 seems to have increased in price (JB4 was ~$750 when I last checked recently, COBB is around 1.2k) Can't really go wrong with either, there are a lot of JB4 vs COBB threads out there, have a read of those and it should help you with your decision |

Welcome!
I'd say MHD is the best value tune, just uses a generic eBay cable and an Android phone/tablet to upload a flash tune to the car. Can get different maps according to the mods fitted to your car or upload a custom tune. I'll be probably be uninstalling my Procede piggyback and going to MHD soon

COBB sounds good just coz u can uninstall it! Ive got just a factory 3 year warranty car so that would be good to have when it comes to servicing the car etc haha
Vtl @ MHD sounds awesome to! Might have to do some research How much power does a tune usually give? And will it effect the stock parts as ur pushing more power? Thanks so much for the help guys, feel a bit like a noob haha |

Welcome to the forum.
Getting a tune will transform the car. Some would say upgrade other parts to ensure they do not cause issues. Charge pipe etc. Its more a precaution but I have had a piggyback and bmr dual cones not upgraded the charge pipe… yet. Been ok so far. |

All had N54 engines Stock 335i e93 dynod 190kw Tuned 135i e82s dynod around 225kw My 135i with Procede tune, FMIC, and down pipes dynoed at 241kw although it was misfiring on a couple runs 335i with custom tune, downpipes, fmic did 243kw One of the BMW 1Ms did around 255kw with tune, downpipes fmic and exhaust One 335i did 243kw on JB4 (no FMIC or downpipes) on the first run, then heatsoaked and went to 225kw after the 3rd run E85 blend tuned cars did anywhere from 260-280kw People said the dyno was reading 15kw low but I think it gives a decent idea of what the mods will give you.

I recently bought my first one too so Im like you, also very happy. Just installed JB4 and it seems excellent. Had a accessport on a different car and loved it, but went the JB4 for something different plus all the quick cars Ive seen listed have it. Have fun!

What do you prefer more? JB4 or the accessport?

I use to have the cobb and switched to JB4 and never looked back.
But it really depends what type of modifications you are planning to do. The cobb is set and forget with no updates in years. The jb4 is an evolving monster, constant new updates coming out and always improving. With the cobb the best I could manage was 12.5s@115mph down the quarter With the latest firmware from jb4 and a lot of mods but still on stock turbos my best is 11.6s@121 mph last Wednesday If you do decide to get the jb4 get the data cable with it so you can log and fault find your car yourself if needed, its easy to use and lots of support in the forums with people willing to help. |
