Does this mean the the stage 1 (93 oct) tune brings our tiny turbos to 20+ psi????

Because if it does....how has nobody blown a turbo yet????
It's called a boost spike. If it doesn't hold at 20PSI you're fine. And if you're not experiencing KR at the same time in your logs.

Finally got a chance to install last night...

I giggled and squealed like a little girl all the way to work this morning.

Thanks Cobb

I installed mine this last Sunday. No codes no problems easy to do, and WOW for a stock car with no egine mods it hauls.

I'm on the fence about this. Realistically what kinds of power differences are we looking at between JB+, JB4 and AP on a completely stock car? I can look at dynos all day, but they seem to be all over the place.

Can the Cobb unit clear airbag, seatbelt, and occupancy sensor faults?

I am on the fence between the Cobb AP and a JB4. Does anyone have some track times and slips on the Cobb?

thx Maxnix. Found one example on the e90 and it was not in the 'all Cobb tuning...' thread (43 pages later). It did show almost a 1 sec better 1/4 mile time than stock on the e90. Still looking for a couple of 135i slips (perferable with the 6MT).

Stephen Le at Cobb said the ABS (airbag sensor) codes can be cleared by the AP, but they will re-appear the next time the car is started if the seats aren't properly re-installed.

Can anyone confirm (or dis-confirm) this? Has anyone done this?

I plan to use Racetech's for occasional HPDE's. I don't care if the warning lights show up during my track weekends, but I'd like to be able to clear them once I re-install my factory seats.

Anyone have any stories to share on how dealers feel about the AP?

Yeah, I hear you. No one wants to be the guy who feels the repercussions though if something were to happen. I am just curious if that guy is out there.

Dude, im sure if there ever was a situation where a dealer identified a flashed ECU in a car still under warranty they would likely go apeshit as with any situation like this and pretty much refuse any and all warranty work having to do with the car. That is why it is so important that this flash be considered a GHOST after it is set back to stock and uninstalled.

That's why I asked if there is someone who has been in that exact position. Different dealers handle situations differently so it's hard to say for sure what WILL happen, but it still would be nice to know of specific situations people have been in.

did a scan for codes for the heck of it.

retuned a p2fa3 error, any ideas? It also will not clear. I uninstalled the cobb unit and it still wont clear.

Did some searching, possibly hpfp related?

This is what I was told about the p2fa3 code from Robb:
"The P2fa3 code is normal for a flashed car to have. It is a coding fault saying the ECU is running a different version of memory than it is expecting. Don't worry, the code will have no effect on how the car drives as it's merely a warning. In the next month or so I will be releasing maps that remove the P2fa3."
