Portable Navi Question- Friction Mount
Hey- does anyone with a Garmin Navi (I am considering the Nuvi 260) have the "friction mount" for the dash? Wondering if this will fit on the 1-er dash. Thanks!

I do. My 255W works great with the friction mount. It will slide down a little bit under hard acceleration, but it's never come off the dash. You just have to nudge it back up a little if you drive aggressively.

If you are referring to the bean bag type of mount, I use one with my Garmin. I don't have the "Garmin" brand mount but one from another manufacturer (close out from Circuit City) and it works just fine on the dash although I haven't tried any spirited driving with it on the dash.

Best Buy sells actual dashboard mounts, it's $19.99 it comes with a standard windshield mount (so you'll have an extra if you already have one) and then a plastic piece with an adhesive, you put that piece on your dash and the standard suction mount on the side facing up, holds it perfectly.
I work there that's how I know about it lol. |
