Exclamation New //M Performance shifter knob...

Hey Guys,

One of my German e90 friends bought the new //M Performance shifter for the new F30 (3er). It looks quite good. Looks like it will bold up (rather snap onto!) to our cars too. But the alcantera shifter boot will not! This is not a SSK, but just a new knob and shifter boot in Alcantera.

Have a look...

#25 11 2 222 534 (knob and boot) 135 euros...

IDK. I think it would be best to go ask your local dealer. I bet you can even just order the shift knob by itself. Right now RealOEM.com only shows it together with the shifter boot/bag. But I suspect you can order it all by itself. Just have them look up the shift know for a F30. It might be under accessories.

Anyone have luck with these in the USA yet? Gotta find a way to order these without the incompatible boot.

I found another part number for the F20 cars... not sure IF that boot would work on our cars. Only one way to find out though!

I was at the BMW Welt this past weekend. They had a nice display of Performance cars. I took this pics of the shifter...

When I head down to FL next weekend to pick up my car I'm gonna see if I can get any more info from the dealer about this part, because honestly I could care less about the boot, I just want that awesome knob without paying for a boot for a different car!

So $225 for the BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Gear Shift Knob with Alcantara Boot. I would have to order it and only use the knob, since the boot won't fit our older cars?

How does this knob compare in comfort to:
e82 Msport perferated
e46 ZHP

Every time i look at it, I am unsure of its contours compared to e82 MSport.

i only had a minute with the e82 BMP SSK

Well... I rather like the stock e82 M sport knob. I think the best ergonomic fit is the e46 ZHP (aka 1M knob). the e46 ZHP has an ovel contour and seems about perfect to me. They are all just different flavors, its like asking which icecream is best, they are all good!

Which shifter do you have and which shifter do you want? In the 3rd pic do you have the one on the left or right/ do you want the one on the left or right?
