Cold Battery
I bought a BMW "Advanced Battery Charging System" for a 2003 325i. It worked very well. I uses 120v outlet and plugs into the cigarette lighter. I was wondering if I could use it on a 2012 135i? The front reads 12V 1.25A. With the below temps I was just curious if it would be good to plug it in as I do not drive that often.

Yup, plug it in if you're not driving it. Batt. in our cars does not like sitting. You've got the right charger. For my 2010 128 the dealer advised connecting direct to the Batt. but my owner's manual says "all charging thru the underhood Batt. connections" so that's where I connect mine(w/supplied alligator clips). My understanding is that the cigarette lighter connection is no longer recommended.

The cigarette lighter disconnects after a few minutes. I tried using it with my 12V compressor to air up the tires and got frustrated when it turned off before I was done. If you tried to charge this way, you will also get frustrated because you will only get a couple minutes charging accomplished. Older cars had cigarette lighter sockets limited only by the fuse. But not my 2009 bimmer.
