First, I'm not the one who started the thread as I'm only here to answer questions. As you can see the thread was started by Guess announcing remap is available for a company. If it was a post by me, I would have prepared all the information and as detailed as possible.

What I want to know is, how the hell does a tuner retune a car without its own dyno? Don't you need to put the car on the dyno while you are doing the tuning in order to optimize the a/f ratios and make sure the remapping is correct across the power band?

I have had extensive work done to my Mustang, including Vortech supercharger, custom built engine, etc. and it usually takes my tuner 8 - 12 hours on the dyno to get the fuel mapping just right. These guys are able to completely remap the computer without ever testing it on a dyno?

HAHAHHA, yea i would like to know this also. And can we have some testimonials from these people that have supposedly already had their car remapped. If not hard facts, id at least like to hear some third party that had this done say that they, in fact, have benefitted from this upgrade. This is like a bad hand-job ..........

Well this thread was started almost 4 months ago (November 8). No results yet from Upsolute??

I was initially an advocate but it sounds like to me that they are stumped.

Guys, calm down. I had an UPSolute chipped Golf IV TDI. It was awesome, no issues. Of course this was a turbo diesel engine. This is only to say how great UPSolute was and the performance increase was astounding. I think it went from 90 to 120 ponnies. Not sure how they do it but it definitely worked and I had no problems for well over a year when I sold my car. Dealerships also never detected the remap being there.

UPSolute is a big company and just because you haven't heard of it before doesn't present any merit in this discussion.

By the way, I don't see UPSolute mentioning the 325i chip anywhere on their website so I don't see how this info ever came out.

Here is the info from their site (check the e90 table):

http://www.upsolute.com/eng/index.html

By the way, Gary, I think your guys did the remap on my Golf about 3 years ago up on Hwy 7 somewhere as far as I remember...Great JOB!

For those asking for a dyno, we did dyno the car, but needs a bit of tweaking at the peak power. Also powergains could be better if we weren't using wintergas as well. We are waiting until its warmer and will redyno again. The revised program, we can already feel a bit more gains as well.

This was on a 325i Automatic.

Here is the dyno.

So can you post the HP and Torque figures before and after. Thanks!

So ~5 hp gained between 4500 and 6000 rpm?

That is before and after. We have a revised program we are going to be trying out when spring comes without the wintergas. Also the dyno place did not have enough fans, they were using very small fans, so it might be heat soaked a bit which the ECU will retard the timing.

Also for those who wondered, the header was glowing orange-red like a turbo after 4500rpm.

No, it is only 1.38 hp increase! Look at the small text under the graph.

i don't understand why you guys keep bashing them...they haven't even formally introduced the chip yet. They are still testing and developing it... why don't you just be patient and let them work?

completely true, a lot of chip companies (not saying this one) sell chips that dont do anything and promise a 10% increase in power.
