Water leaking from map light!

My car had been sitting in the driveway for about 2weeks since I haven't had my plates yet and the weather has been kind of snowy. But today I'm on my way to the dealership to get the inspection done and as I'm getting off the exit about halfway through the turn water starts coming out of the roof console directly behind the right map light. Is it possible that because it was sitting on a slight downward slope and when the snow melted it worked its way in there somehow? Or do I have bad sunroof seals?

More likely is one or both of your front sunroof drains is clogged with dirt and/or debris. Don't use compressed air to clean them, instead use a long thin wire to run down thru the drains. Your car is probably still under warranty - so just have the dealer check them. You can use a watering can and check the drains yourself.

Hey thanks a lot dack, that's actually makes sense. However I think my car is out of warranty it's an 08 with 55k on it. Are these drains easily accessible when the sunroof is open or do I have to tear the headliner out?

Isn't your car under warranty? You want to use a semi stiff wire. Something that won't fold in on itself - when you push it down thru the water drains. Have you even tested the drains to see if that is your problem? Just use some water from a can or small bottle.

The car is out of warranty and the seals look good. So I'm assuming the drains are plugged up, I want to snake them before I test them because as of right now I will for sure have water floating around up there.

You could also use a pipe cleaner for a smoking pipe tobacco.

Not sure on the 1er. I cleaned out the drain on a VW which drained out into the door hinge area. I think most cars drain either at the door hinges or into the fender well. If it is the door hinge area you can see the string come out.
