I drove an M3 and Z4 35si today and I have to say that I like the Z4 better as a dd. There is no question that the M3 would be a better track car but the torque is non existent until 5k. I am so used to the torque of the N54 and it would take a while to get used to the M3. Am I crazy?

I think that I am going to have a hard time replacing the 135.

Haven't had the opportunity to drive the newer M3, but I just test drove an E46 M3 and 135 N54 back to back. Are you saying the low end torque on the E90 M3 isn't as good as the E46 and E82?

My uncle, like you, has an extra car and uses a Z4 for DD. Not a bad DD if you have another car with some capacity when you need it.

Yes, The low end torque on the S65 is not like the N54, but that is to be expected.

Soon you will be shopping for a 135i again. Every car discussed has had a compromise of some sort or another. Unless you just want something different I suppose.
