CF fabric interior trim...HELLPPPP!!!!
I decided to go ahead and do the Cf fabric interior trim DIY. My coral red interior just did not flow with the wood trim I used the matte black cf fabric from PYSpeed. I've never done anything like this before but the install was overall fairly easy and came out super legit. Everything went well except for the ash tray piece under the center console. For the life of me I could not figure out how to get it out thats where you experts come in I attached some pics first of my success and then the last one of my EPIC FAIL! Please help me out guys. Thanks and enjoy!

First off, great job on the wrapping. I wrapped mine with black Alcantara and love it. to remove the ash tray, you have to completely remove the center console and arm rest. There is a DIY on here somewhere for sure because thats whats I used to remove mine. There is NO other way to remove the ash tray without removing the center console. Hope this helps and good luck!

I've uses that fabric as well as the 3M DiNoc vinyl and feel the DiNoc is superior in many regards- appearance, ease of use, removability. You should check that out as well.

Depends on how long that fabric lasts on the handles and if anyone else looks at this thread for advice. Plus, it's not like anyone ever looks for a better mod even if they've already done one.... glad your post was as useful as you believed mine to be.

hehehe looks like mine, there is a DIY on here look at it for pics.
heres a summary of what i did edit: o ya, you need time, I tried to do this in an hour because I had to go somewhere, took me an hour just to unscrew everything 1) remove ebrake boot completely, remove bolt from there, push it all the way out 2) unscrew 3 screws and push pin from under driver side where footlight is 3) unscrew 2 screws and push pin from under passenger side where the storage compartment is 4) remove shit boot and shift knob completely, unplug 3 plugs if you have auto, unscrew 2 10mm bolts. 5) remove ipod adapter and unplug everything 6) near the center console near the passenger seat is a piece of plastic, pop it off and unscrew it 7) there is a piece of plastic in the middle next to the ipod adapter, pop that off too and unscrew bolt. 8)go to the backseat and pop out the back of the center console(where the arm rest is) Just stick something like a flat screwdriver on the top or side and push out carefully. Then remove 2 bolts from there 9) everything should be unscrewed, grab the armrest and pull up and to the side slowely, if it wont come out, there might be something you need to unplug 10) then have fun wrapping i was able to do my tray area great, but the tray cover itself is very bad and I don't know what I should do : (. I wrapped it correctly, but it is gets jammed/wont close/open a lot.

I love the CF interior fabric. However, I would probably pay someone the extra few $ to install as I do not have the artistry to do this project at all... LOL.
The gains from the CF interior are as stated from BMW : 5HP gain!

I did the same thing with the 3M Di-Noc Wrap, I also need to do the door handles, but I'm having a hard time with them. Being that they are curved, how do you keep it from creasing around the curvature? A heat gun and stretching?

Well 3M Di-Noc is different from the CF cloth that is used above. With the cloth it is slightly stretchable and can be pulled and stretched around the curves easily. The Di-Noc is vinyl so its a bit different.
