Help with codes!
So I emailed Terry about the codes that I got, and he told me that they are pretty uncommon. My codes are 29E0 Fuel mixture control and 2B28 DMTL, micro leak. I have the JB4 along with the DPfix installed, and verified that both are in correctly. Tomorrow I am going to take it in to the exhaust shop and look for any type of leak that there might be, as these codes never came up until I installed my exhaust. I am just wondering if anyone here has ever gotten these codes, and if so what did you do?! Thanks.

Both codes came up about 3 weeks ago when I installed my JB, then just came back. I guess I will try a different gas station and see if that changes anything..Thanks for your input

Not sure how accurate this is, or if it even relates to this.....a member on one of the threads said that you shouldn't run the DP fix and jb4 at the same time, as it could mess with the AFR's.
I'll see if I can find the post. |

Not quite sure if it actually does have anything to do with the codes that I have right now, as I am not getting the "missing/damaged cats in bank 1/2" codes. I did have them after my exhaust install, and once i re-adjusted the DPfix it has not come back since. It will still be a good thread to read, and as always thanks for your reply! Oh, and also, word on the street is it could be a leaky gas cap..? Any thought on this??

Last time I had that code, along with a few misfiring codes and a few others, it was because of a bad primary o2 in bank one. Changed it out and codes are gone.

I disagree with that statement. I have the JB4 and am also running the standalone DP fix and have not had any issues or problems whatsoever. I went this route because I wanted to be able to read any codes that came up. Also for when I disable the JB4 since I am catless.

OK so I went to BMW and asked them about the codes. He said there has been a lot of cases lately of bad gas, and that the gas station I get gas from is pretty shitty and suggested not to go there again. I bought some fuel line dryer stuff, that dries out the water left from fuel in the lines, and also injector cleaner in a bundle package from BMW. I used both of those when I re fueled at a different station and so far 100 miles without any lights! Lets hope that's all the issue was..Hope this helps for future reference, and Thanks for all the help!

*UPDATE*
Ok, so the 29E0 code I calked up to bad fuel. Changed the fuel up and put some BMW injector cleaner in it and never came back. The 2B28 code was a purge valve, I guess it's by the DME, not quite sure but its what my SA told me. Something to do with emissions and sometimes they get stuck I guess. Just wanted to post an update in case anyone else came across this.. |
