That's exactly what am on now and I love it and am quite satisfied with it, I don,t think i'll go higher than this, it'll be an overkill for a DD a street friendly car. stock suspension won't cope with it and i need a Compliant setup for the messed up streets we have . PSS tires are a very good match to my current setup. they're a must

When you go Stage 1+ FMIC your life will change believe me! Adding a catless downpipe is like giving your car ecstasy! Absolutely amazing, hope you enjoy man!

Is the car's smoothness affected? anything negative at all to report? I'm seriously considering Cobb right now, have no other performance mods installed at the moment. Would likely also get a FMIC as I'm very paranoid about cooling what will be higher temperatures. I already consider the car to run hot in stock form.

I have COBB stage 2+ aggressive, ETS FMIC, AR catless DP. Crazy power/torque and car is never >250degrees. Just need stickier tires than my re760s

+1 I have the same set up except stage 1+ because of we only have 91 octane in L.A.

How loud is the downpipe? Does it drone?

I feel it is more smooth through the bands and gears. Only thing I noticed was off the line there is a small hesitation (was there before, but slightly more noticeable now) but I feel its needed so you don't spin out, spin the tires etc. When cruising and you want to go around someone just touch the gas and you can fly around. Its a huge amazing difference. Don't wait, do it now!

I do not want to do downpipe as in Cali the smog is crazy here and I would fail. Since I am unable to do my own work, to pay every two years to remove them would be a pain in the butt and get expinsive.

LOL @ op. That's exactly how I felt when I installed my Cobb setup; I'll be going into Stage 2+ today, and I'm already shopping for a Meth kit. MORE POWER!

I live in LA and I have a catless DP but my car is newer so I do not do a smog test yet. I do have a High Flow Cat sitting around which I know does filter out the bad stuff and still gives you VERY similar performance to that of a catless. The sound is not as loud but it is much louder than stock.

That is great to hear. So if I was only planning on running the stage 1 Sport map it would still be worth it huh?

Running the Stage 1 Sport Map I was beating my friends 335is. You can really feel the difference.

1. AR downpipe has no drone and no smell
2. Even catless the COBB AP deletes the codes...so why would you remove the dp?
3. Mix some 91 octane with some E85 if avail and make a monster.
my two cents.

By how much though? Since the IS is only 20hp more then a 135i and is heavier I would expect a cobb tuned 135i to be no contest with a 335is?

We were on a highway roll and I pulled away about 2 cars length. Now I just rape it with my current mods and tune lol

Its good to know that you were impressed with the cobb. I am thinking of beginning to mod my car again, and it looks like that is the first step along with a down pipe.

I just went from the JB4 to the Cobb S1 Aggressive, and I can tell its very smooth. DP and FMIC with a custom tune soon to come.

I would expect the JB4 to blow away COBB stg 1 power wise being that I assume it's a much more power oriented tune. What are your experiences? Is the smoothness worth the "loss' in power?
