Wrecked my 135i with pics...need opinions

Basically, some dumbass in a black SUV swerved to my line while slamming on the brakes, causing a pile up. I rearended the car in front. Do you all think the car is totaled? I really hope so, because the car would never be the same. Sucks, but shit happens.

I think if the airbag is deployed there is a high chance of being totalled.

That's what I was thinking...I know with two of the airbags being deployed, that typically points towards being totalled...hopefully anyway.

Glad you're ok, man. You can always get another car. Good luck.

Thanks. Yep, just a car. I busted my lip and have a bit of airbag rash on my arm. Left shoulder is a bit sore, but other than that, the car saved me a bit of more extensive injuries.

I don't think it looks all that bad: hood, grill one headlight, LF fender, two air bags, ect.

How does the engine look under the hood? Did it push back your engine or exhaust any? IS your roof bowed? I'd say you have about $12K of damage. I think your ins co will try to fix it. Good Luck

I couldn't get a good look under the hood too much. It's more pushed in than the pics suggest. I wasn't able to get a side shot of it. I don't think the roof is bowed. The big thing I'm counting on is the two airbags and any further damage that you can't really see without going over it with a fine tooth comb.

The best thing is to tell your insurance co that they will be MARRIED to your car IF they fix it! lol What I mean about that is.... everything they repair you will gripe about... they might just opt out early for a total loss claim. Make sure they don't try and use cheap non OE parts either.

GL.

I definitely had them tow it to the dealership that I bought it from. I asked my adjuster about that as far as after I get it back, there is still stuff "not right" whether it be the way it drives/feels etc. I think there will be a lot more damage they find once they start tearing it down.

This one below was $8500 damage according to the poster, so I'm very hopeful.

Lol at 12k. I was rearended and had 12k in damage. Hate to see how much a shot like that costs to fix.

It's almost certainly a total. Gl getting a new car!
